OpenVSP can now export IGES files!<\/p>\n<p>OpenVSP 3.3.0 is the latest feature release of everyone&#8217;s favorite<br \/>\nparametric modeling tool. IGES support was made possible via libIGES, a<br \/>\nsmall library created by Cirilo Bernardo.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve bumped the version number not because this change is monumental,<br \/>\nbut because it will require special attention for anyone building VSP<br \/>\nthemselves (they must re-build the Libraries to build libIGES).<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, IGES file export will not be a CAD-interchange-cure-all.<br \/>\nIGES files will be subject to many of the same pitfalls as STEP files, but<br \/>\nhopefully this will provide another avenue to work with other modelers and<br \/>\ndownstream tools.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to IGES files, there are some other features and bug fixes,<br \/>\neveryone should update and enjoy!<\/p>\n<p>Features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>IGES file export made possible by libIGES github.com\/cbernardo\/libIGES<\/li>\n<li>Adaptive feature lines (Should be prettier)<\/li>\n<li>Visualization of blank component axes (Turn off feature lines to hide)<\/li>\n<li>Split surfaces by default for STEP files (Match IGES, more compatible)<\/li>\n<li>Add STEP\/IGES export units enum to API<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Bug fixes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wing root incidence not updating (thanks Travis, Michael, and Brandon)<\/li>\n<li>Wing twist limits too limiting (thanks Michael and Brandon)<\/li>\n<li>Symmetrical diagonals for CompGeom &amp; friends (thanks Dave Kinney)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>October surprise!
